It’s been a while since I posted a personal favorite. However, the hotel I will be talking about today is definitely one that falls into that category. Since my first time in Romania, I’ve stayed here 4 times already. I’m talking about Casa Reims! Why? Let’s take a look.
Casa Reims is a 4 star hotel, located in the old town of Brasov, one of the many touristic spots Romania has to offer. The hotel has a variety of rooms and even some apartments. All rooms come with a private bathroom and an included breakfast. Most of them also have view on Brasov’s most recognizable feature: Mount Tampa.
With Brasov’s main street, Strada Republicii, on one side and Mount Tampa on the other, the location of this hotel couldn’t be better; central, yet quiet and tucked away. From the hotel you’re at the main sites in no time. However, if you prefer to stay a little bit under the radar, that’s possible too.
Most of the rooms have view on Brasov’s most recognizable feature: Mount Tampa.
During my 4 stays in Casa Reims I stayed in 4 different rooms. The perfect opportunity to test this place thoroughly! I started out in the twin room for which I paid €48 for single use. The room has two single beds, view on the mountain and a private bathroom. Other rooms I tried were the double room (€52), the superior double room (€56) and the deluxe double room (€62). My favorite? Not the deluxe double room (aka the Jacuzzi room), surprisingly enough! Although I loved eating an Ando’s sandwich in the tub, my heart went out to the superior double room, or ‘the purple room’, which has the softest carpet I ever walked on.
Every bathroom I ever set foot in, in Casa Reims, has a massage shower at the minimum. The bathrooms are spacious, clean and very well equipped. The ‘jacuzzi room’ is at a whole other level: the bathroom is as big as the bedroom!
All luxury aside, the reason I love this hotel so much is the personal service. When I first got to this hotel, I made friends with their former receptionist. This girl, who must be very much missed, was always in for a talk or a little tea party. It’s not often that you get to talk to people when staying in a hotel alone.
In the morning the owner, Maria, is there. She doesn’t speak English but her omelets do the talking for her. Because of her, this hotel gets a very homely atmosphere. Although it’s a 4 star place, it’s not a stiff as many other hotels can be. The second time I got there I was welcomed with a hug instead of a cold smile. Now every time I come there, Maria is jumping up and down while clapping her hands. She’s excited to see me and I’m excited for her reaction every time.
So, if you sleep at Casa Reims, this is what you can expect:
- Spotless environment
- Delicious breakfast
- Spacious, well decorated room
- Personal service
- Homely environment
- Excellent location
